Misleading statements & ********** charges

Firstly, I noticed that your statements are very misleading. My minimum payment for this month is about R122 of which R109 is just for fees and finance charges. How is the Average Joe supposed to EVER pay off all his BlueBean debt if he's only really paying fees and minimal of the actual balance?

This way you just prolonging the debt of Average Joe and keep earning money from him, simply because he doesn't understand how you bill him and doesn't think about paying a bit more to get rid of that debt. It's disgusting, to say the least - you feeding of those who don't know of any better. You obviously don't have your customer’s best interest at heart and are only concerned with your own pocket. As if this country's debt status is not enough to be worried about…

But the actual reason for my complaint today is definitely not my concern for Average Joe, but rather concern for my own financial well-being and trusting you in this process.

For the past 3 years that I've had a BlueBean credit card, I only really used it in the very first year (2013/2014). Ever since then I've been trying to pay it off to get rid of unwanted debt.

Today, I phoned your call center to explain to me the difference between a Finance Charge and a Cash Finance Charge. Turns out I'm being billed separately for whatever balance is on straight as well as budget. This is still standard practice in the industry, but what boggles my mind is that Cash Finance Charge.

She explained that this is charged whenever money is either withdrawn from the account manually or via EFT. So for 3 years I've been repaying the minimum balance plus a whole lot more because I'm trying to get rid of the card. By now, surely the cash part that was withdrawn 3 years ago is all paid up already? Why are the available funds that are being swiped still treated as cash withdrawn and not just billed normally with a finance charge?

You're quick to differentiate between swipes and cash withdrawn, but you can't differentiate the same way when money goes into the account?

I’ve done some investigation of my own and it seems that this Cash Finance Charge just started to be charged in January 2014 (the same time you switched over from browser based statements to pdf attachment statements instead). I’m pretty sure that I did NOT sign for this Cash Finance Charge to be deducted from my account, because if I have, it would’ve been billed from the moment I withdrew this cash from the account, which was August 2013. You can’t decide 4 months after that you now need to start charging me in different ways than what I signed for?

I expect this to be investigated and resolved immediately. I'd like for you to look into my account and reverse all those Cash Finance Charges since January 2014. Also, start educating your customers that they are not actually paying off any debt if they don't pay more than the minimum monthly payment due and stop this inconsiderate **************** you've got going here.

Thanks
