Safety and cleanliness at BlueWaters Hotel were inadequate
I recently stayed at BlueWaters Hotel from August 29th to September 1st, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. I had made my reservation through Safari and was looking forward to a relaxing family break in Durban, but the service and conditions at the hotel were disappointing.
Upon check-in, the receptionist was unfriendly and unhelpful. We were initially assigned a room directly across from the laundry room, which was noisy and disruptive. Despite requesting a quieter room, we were moved to a higher floor, still too close to the laundry facilities. I had specifically mentioned that we couldn't stay on higher floors due to our baby, but my concerns were not adequately addressed.
The cleanliness of the room was subpar. The sheets and toilet floor were dirty, which added to our discomfort. The situation escalated on Saturday morning when my daughter answered a knock at the door to find two men attempting to force entry into our room. This alarming situation was handled poorly by the hotel staff; it took 15 minutes to even inform security, and the response from the duty manager, Sandile, was disturbingly casual.
When I finally checked out on Saturday morning, Sandile was more focused on how he could assist further rather than addressing the issues we faced. He didn’t offer any explanation regarding a refund for the night’s stay, which was a disappointing oversight.
The overall safety and cleanliness at BlueWaters Hotel were inadequate, and the service fell far short of expectations. I would caution potential guests to consider these factors before booking.
