Refund Process is Bad

I made a booking, but due to personal circumstances I had to cancel my booking on the 19th of July 2023, its almost 2 months now since I made the cancellation and till today, I haven't received my refund back. Last week when I enquired, I was told that the refund will be paid by Friday the 8th of August, although attempts where made to reach out for by payment, the hotel does not respond on time and continuously they don't adhere to their word.
