Bicycle safety
I am employed at Specsavers, in Blue Route Mall. On this day, Tuesday, last week, I had come into work with my car, which I always do. However, during the course of the day I had decided to finally start coming in to work using my bicycle to commute to and from work. I had then approached a very humble security guard and had asked him if it’s okay for me to come into work using my bicycle as I was sceptical about the safety of my bike, and he had said yes. He continued and said that he doesn’t recommend me parking my bike by the outside bike parking station as it’s very dangerous, but instead recommended that I park my bike at the security office. He said they always do it for customers. I was exceptionally pleased to hear this so I told him that me coming with my bike would be a regular occurrence and he said I shouldn’t worry; they will gladly keep my bike safely at the office.
The next morning I came in with my bike and the manager of the security and I think the manager of the actual office stopped me and made it clear that they will definitely not take any care of my bicycle. They said they don’t take care of bikes and they seemed quite insincere about my situation. They said they only do it for customers, which they couldn’t think for themselves that I’m a customer of the mall too. I do so much shopping at blue route mall. They quite clearly just told me off and went on about their day.
I then emailed the manager of the “information centre” and told her about my situation. I went about it in a civil and honest manner, but this manager just never ever responded to me AT ALL.
I honestly feel so disheartened and disgusted with the employees of Blue Route Mall. They are of the worst people I have ever came into contact with. I honestly thought by coming in with the bike I don’t only benefit my health, but that of the world conservation and the people around me. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m so young that people think they can walk over me, or if it’s a race thing or what it could be, but the way the staff of blue route mall (“THE MANAGERS”) is so sad and disappointing.
I will never ever feel towards blue route mall the way I had felt about it before. Never!
