Supply of faulty out of warranty item snuck in with others still covered - all identically labeled.
In Feb 2021 I bought 4 refurbished lion solar batteries from Blue Planet Power in Knysna. The batteries were sourced from Mustek. All subsequently failed within the supposed 2 year warranty period specified on all 4 boxes in which the batteries arrived. Upon taking them in to Mustek for repair/ replacement I was told only 3 are covered by the warranty. The 4th, which I can only assume was from older stock from the start , they won't even look at, claiming it somehow not covered by the warranty. Though the sale clearly included all 4 - same conditions, same price, same deal. Following a lengthy followup investigation Mustek and Blue Planet Power concluded that there had never been any commitment to a 2 year warrantee. Despite the fact that such was clearly stipulated on all 4 boxes for all 4 batteries bought.
Blue Planet Power doesn't warrant those batteries for 2 years. that is a manufacturers warranty. you dealt directly with Mustek. I am not sure why they only replaced 3 batteries. they were supp**** together. I also spoke to them to try and resolve this for you, they say that the 1 battery was about 3 months older than the other 3 according to their serial numbers. It doesn't explain why they won't honour the warranty on the 1 though. I am curious as to why all 4 batteries failed in the first place. That's like saying lightning struck the same place 4 times, which is highly unlikely. I suspect that either all their batteries have failed out in the field but we would have heard from more people in this regard or more likely they didn't all fail due to manufacturers defect. As you sent the batteries directly to Mustek I cannot give you a proper reason for what occurred. Perhaps you could get a detailed report from Mustek for me to have a look at please.
