Blue Moon Cottage Mtwalume Kwazulu-Natal - Dreadful

Blue Moon Cottage Self Catering - Mtwalume / Hibberdene - Kwazulu- Natal. I have stayed in many places and have never ever had a problem slumming it, but honestly, let's face it - there are limits, and there is a bar in terms of standards! On arrival to this "well advertised self catering unit" on the net, we found the unit to be filthy. The beds were unmade, the furniture was antiquated and the television was a small old box shape . The linen, that was on top of the beds, was old and grubby. The unit also had a pecu**** unpleasant odour. The general condition of the unit was appalling and the locale questionable. We were told that the unit was a 2 minute drive to the beach, and close to shops, which is utterly untrue. My family were extremely unhappy and wanted to leave immediately. Unfortunately, I had paid a deposit already. I immediately contacted the owner, Mr Andrew Crouch, and explained that my family were extremely unhappy and that they did not want to stay in his unit. I explained that I was not in the financial position to find alternative accommodation without the refund of my deposit; and should he not be able to refund me, then we would have no choice but to reluctantly stay at Blue Moon Cottage. He understood and agreed to refund my deposit to me as soon as he received the money from SafariNow. I was extremely grateful and thanked him for his understanding. UNFORTUNATELY, Mr Andrew Crouch is not a man of his word. After almost a month of texting and nagging for my deposit refund, he has subsequently refused to refund my deposit and has reneged on our agreement. This entire incident has been disgraceful and it is very sad to know that there are such ************* people like Andrew Crouch in the world!
