Shoddy work
I have paid blue lagoon pools 70% of the invoice amount and the shoddy work they have done does not commensurate with the amount i have paid. They are ignoring my emails. For the 200k I paid, they only dug a pool of 6 by 4 and installed a pool pump. I had paid them for a water feature and they have only done less than 2% of the work.

10 Jun 2019, 13:28This is NOT true. This is a non-payment issue. We are struggling since 31/1/2019 to get payment of R 63 K. Jonty made countless written undertakings to make payment. The outstanding amount is R 93 K. Any responsible business won't continue without the R 63 K payment.

This is NOT true. This is a non-payment issue. We are struggling since 31/1/2019 to get payment of R 63 K. Jonty made countless written undertakings to make payment. The outstanding amount is R 93 K. Any responsible business won't continue without the R 63 K payment.

10 Jun 2019, 13:46They are lying - I have a photo of what they did to my pool with glaring cracks. Their work is shoddy. How do I pay them R63k in advance when they have not completed the R200k work that I have already paid them for? their excuse is that they will finish the outstanding work once i have paid them the 63K. But the 64K is for the work that have not been completed. I want them to complete the work I have paid them for already?I paid R60k for the water feature and what have they done?nothing!!!! I paid R140k for the pool and what have they done? a big hole with cracks and a pump - can those cost R140k???do i then pay an additional amount when they have not completed the work of the money i paid for? they say, they will complete that work once i have paid the 63k - I CANT I DONT TRUST THEM BECAUSE THEY HAVE NOT FINISHED THE WORK I PAID THEM FOR? I think I am financing someone's else job ? infact last year, they sent what they purported to be a wrong invoice, they wanted me to pay them in advance, and when I questioned it, they retracted and claimed that it was a mistake. I have an email for that. I also have photos of what they have done so far. They owe me labour and I cant pay them for anything additional until they finish what i have already paid them for. How do i owe pay R63k in advance when they have not completed the work I have already paid R200k for? Am I stupid? They have been ignoring my calls and emails since last week.
two weeks ago I asked them if I pay the 63k when will the glass be installed? they cant answer that - they said they will revert to me. I want them to finish the work that I have paid them for, finish and klaar. I will then get a reputable service provider to fix the cracks. They are ignoring my sms and my emails.

10 Jun 2019, 13:48the 63K is not for the work they have done but it is for the glass still to be installed. They want me to pay 63k when they have not completed the work that i have paid them for. I paid them more than 200K for a "big hole with cracks"- surely digging a hole does with cracks does not cost R200k.

11 Jun 2019, 07:42- They charged me R55 252 for the water feature - I paid them a full amount for the water feature but the water feature is 40% complete. When I asked them they say they will complete the water feature once I have paid them in advance for the glass pool. Now should i pay them for the glass pool installation when they have failed to complete the work that I have already paid them. Why cant they finish the water feature because that have been paid in full???
- The charged me R258 687 for the pool. I have paid them R166 688, thats like 65%. With the 166k paid, they were supposed to have built a pool, completed stone coping and paving, interior finish, lights, sky blue marbalite and multi layer fibre glass system. None of the latter was done. The only thing they have done is dug a hole and installed a pump. Again they want me to pay them in advance for the glass pool installation when they have not completed the work I have already paid them for. Why cant they finish the pool??According to the agreement I signed with them, the "big hole" and pump is R94 340. So they owe me work worth R72k
- The charged me R117k for glass pool installation. This should be the last thing to be installed. I have not paid them in full because the have not completed the (1) and (2) above. How do I pay for the glass pool when (1) and (2) have not been completed?? In fact for the glass pool installation, I have paid them R25 965, which is 22% of the R117k they charged me. Now do I pay them the remainder of the R117k when they have not ( 1) completed the work I have already paid them for and (2) they cant even tell me when the glass installation will be done? I sent them an email two weeks ago and wanted to find out (1) when will they complete the work that I have paid them for? and (2) If i pay them in ADVANCE for the glass, when will this "glass" be installed? They ignored my email. I sent 4 follow ups emails and sms'es but they also ignored them.

11 Jun 2019, 10:17This is still NOT TRUE. Let's deal with the facts. The statement that we "only dug a pool and installed a pool pump" refers. The facts are:We have excavated the pool hole, then we trimmed the hole, the we installed steel reinforcing throughout the pool hole, then we constructed a concrete pool shell, we installed the weir, the aimflow's, the underwater LED lights, we did all the pipework from the pool to the filtration system, we installed a filtration system which includes a pump, filter and housing, we installed the coping tiles and we did a "grip plaster" layer throughout the pool for the fibreglass final interior finish. This constitutes 93% of the work done.All that still needs to be done is the glass placement and fibreglass interior lining. (This is in line with Jonty's instruction in his e-mail of 25/4/2019 where he stated: "Do everything except the glass installation. This must be done last").This work will be covered by the last payment of R 30 K after the outstanding R 63 K has been paid. It is interesting to note that the level of completion of the water feature has grown from 2% to 40% overnight (from one e-mail to another). The fact of the matter is that the level of completion is 93%.
