cell phone contact without the owners consent

it is with great sadness that our country has allowed access of our Identities to telemarketers who in turn will abuse our names without our consent, i have a prepaid number that was converted into a contract by RNCS (EDCON FROUP) , Each time i call them to get more info or rather cancel this so called contract , i get different stories and get a new reference number or they will cut my call

as of today the balance owing is R***.67. realistically -how does one accumulate so much and the network does not question this?

today again i called RNCS who confirmed that they have relayed the message to the network provider , but when i follow up with them - there is no cancellation request from Edcon

we are taken for a ride as consumers and this is a frustration that you never know what next will happen under your name
