UNPROFESSIONAL/TERRIBLE/ SHOCKING SERVICE RECEIVED FROM BLINGSTALLATION
Terrible Service I got from Blingstallation company, I had to go through traumatic experience, I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone not even my worst enemy. I wish I could've checked the right review before taking up their service. I've installed my Air-Conditioner in February and it was a nightmare, and they promised to send me my CoP, now I'm still running after them to give me my certificate of compliance for my A.C unit.
THIS IS WHAT I HAD TO GO THROUGH.
On the 11th of February 2021, we purchased a Defy 12000BTU Inverter air conditioning unit for R 8999. Makro recommended that we purchase extended warranty for R 560 which we did. Makro also recommended that we buy the installation voucher for R 2450, which was purchased on the 12th of February 2021.
A company called Blingstallation contacted us on the 13th of February 2021 to schedule an appointment for the 15th of February 2021 at 8H00. The technician came to install the unit and we were quoted an additional R905 which we haven’t received an invoice for, the indoor and outdoor unit are less than 2meters apart. Blingstallation lead us to believe that the installation will take place in one day and this wasn’t the case. The electrician did not pitch on the day of installation.
After numerous calls Blingstallation ***) an appointment was scheduled for 18th of February at 11H00. We were quoted and additional R1165 for the required material. I contacted the lady by the name of Tia Simons to enquired about these additional costs she was very rude and did not listen to my concerns. She indicated that even if the electrician quoted me a million rand I will have to pay it. The electrician damage the ceiling and the wall above the outdoor unit. A brick has fell inside the ceiling leaving a hole on the exterior as a result the birds are nesting inside the ceiling.
The unit was eventually connected to the dB board and switched on and the electrician left my property. An hour later we switched off the air conditioning unit. Later that evening we tried to switch it on, and it would not come on. At 17H46 (18 February 2021) we sent the email to *** to bring the matter to their attention. They responded the following day indicating that it was human error not intentional and scheduled a second appointment for the electrician to attend the problem. The electrician showed up at the property on Saturday (20 February 2021 at 11H45 and immediately got into an argument that he is not liable for any faults.
The cables on the outdoor isolator switch were exposed, and the isolator box was cut with a knife to accommodate the loose cable at the bottom of the box. We immediately instructed him to replace the box. He then proceeded to open the dB board inside the house and fiddle with the wiring. He seemed confused and not knowing what the problems was. He eventually started tightening some random wires inside the dB board and the aircon was powered up and then left without giving us a certificate of compliance.
Today (21 February) we woke up to see smoke and a buzzing sound coming out of a dB board. We immediately contacted City Power (Call ***) alerting them of the dangerous situation on the premises. The City Power technicians did not find the fault on the meter outside and indicated that the liability is with the customer. They open dB boards and found loose cables leading to the geyser time which burned out. The new timer has cost us an additional R270 because of loose connection due to the installation of an air conditioning unit.
The first impression dealing with the call centre was terrible. The additional cost were not discussed with us beforehand. They were not eager to explain the terms and conditions for installation. They were eager to force down our throats their non-refundable policy instead of providing us with and estimated cost. The electrician that came to the house was very unprofessional, rude, arrogant, and was swearing at my wife instead of doing the work. I had to reprimand Leon Steady several times and instructed him to stop with this kind of behaviour or leave the property. The picture taken before shows the mess he left inside dB board which the timer has burned out and replaced this morning.
The manager by the name Tia Simons was also very rude on the telephone when we reported the problems. On the day of installation, she was not eager to resolve the issue and was screaming in my ear instead of listening to my concerns. She indicated on the call that she does not care about the costing that we must pay. She even instructed Leon to stop with the installation but was so happy to collect the additional funds that were apparently to covered by the installation voucher.
