Pathetic service

They came to install our Explora and the second dstv box to work in the other room. The secondary view wasn't working properly and they had to come back.

When they came back the 2nd time they didn't fix what they were suppose to but not only that they went as far as also uninstalled the 3rd tv! When we asked them to come and at least fix everything as it was so we can get someone else to do it properly they refused unless we pay them a call out fee to come and fix their own mess up!!!! They are not to be recommended at all!!!!!

Thank you for raising your complaint on hellopeter;

This installation was successfully completed on 25-April-2016.

We received a request for a service call on 21-May-2016. The Technician established that all components supp**** for this installation was working 100% and further diagnosis confirmed that the the Decoder settings on the secondary decoder was rest to factory default. The settings on a decoder can only be reset to factory default if the decoder is defective, or a software upgrade from Multichoice results in the decoder resetting, or the decoder is reset by the customer.

This type of fault is not covered under the 1 year limited warranty for workmanship or component supp**** by BlingStallation. This is either a decoder hardware / software problem or because it was manually reset by a user therefore the service call provided was a billable service.

It is important for customers reading this complaint to understand that all Service Providers in South Africa who provide same or similar services to consumers as BlingStallation, has tangible costs in order to send a Technical Team to a customers home to provide service support. Such costs are, and not strictly limited to, fuel, toll fees, staff salaries, vehicle maintenance costs,etc. BlingStallation on a daily basis honors our 1 year warranty to all of our customers without any charges to them provided that the fault found is related to either defective workmanship or defective component supp**** by BlingStallation. Some customers, such as this complainant, demand that the service provider must provide FREE services to them even though the fault found is not the service providers fault.

The complainant agreed prior to the service call being booked and again before the Technician proceeded to attend to the service call that if the fault is not related to defective workmanship or component supp**** by BlingStallation, that the service call would be a billable service. The Technician proved to the complainants father who was on site for the service call that the fault was related to the decoder settings on the secondary decoder being reset. After the Technician reconfigured the decoders and confirmed with the complainants father that everything is now working 100%, the complainant refused to pay the R450 call out and labour fee for the Technical service. BlingStallation does not demand money from our customers and the customer was therefore advised that if she refused to pay for the service call because this was not a warranty related fault, that the settings would be reverted to factory default.

The complainant threatened to publish a complaint on hellopeter, social media, with Makro and Multichoice if the Technician did not provide her with FREE service support. Regrettably, a FREE service call could not be provided to the customer as it was proved beyond doubt that the fault was not covered under the warranty.

We sincerely regret that this complainant feels that BlingStallation is responsible for poor service delivery, however it is unreasonable to expect any service provider to provide FREE services if the fault is not the service providers.

Kind Regards
Keith Granville
