Bad customer service by Blingstallation
My wife and I bought a gas installation voucher at Makro Centurion on the 29/11/2020 and was informed by the Blingstallation sales person on site that the cost will be R950 for installation ( this cost include call out fee plus 1 hour installation ). He also informed us that we can buy our own material and that no additional fee will be charged during installation which we all agreed to based on these condition
Unfortunately due to some unforeseen circumstance beyond our control we had to delay the installation
On Thursday the 6th May , the technician came on site to do the installation and to my surprise the technician informed me that he cannot use my material and that I will need to pay an extra R990 approximately for the additional items which I didn’t agree to as I was told that the initial fee I paid will cover everything if I have my own material.
The technician informed me to go back to Makro to get my refund which we went on Tuesday the 10th May.
However Makro requested that Bling should authorise the refund for them to give us back the money , but to my surprise Blingstallation are refusing to refund me
We regret that you feel this way on the services we have provided you.
As per our Terms and Conditions form issued to all customers, the service is non-refundable at the point the technician arrives on site and provides a quotation. This section of the T&Cs is signed at store level and further explained during the booking process, which was completed by Ms. Mohlabe on 25 November 2020. As a company, we do cater for customers who require quotations, and this is a callout fee of R650.00. As we did not complete your installation, you were advised by our call centre that the R650.00 call out fee could be paid for the quotation received from our Gas Technician following which, the R950.00 refund from Makro would be approved.
You declined to pay the R650.00 fee, and thus the R950.00 refund could not be processed as a service was rendered in the form of a quotation and tangible costs were incurred in order to come out to your home and provide a quotation.
Your complaint regarding the additional cost for material has been noted, and further investigation into the information presented at a store level is taking place. Due to the safety measures surrounding Gas Installations, it is company policy that customers may not use their own purchased materials.
Customer service is at the core of our BlingStallation values and we apologise that this was not a service you feel you have experienced.

You are correct that I refused to pay the R650 as per the discussion with the customer service because of 3 reasons.
1. The customer service consultant insisted that we were told of the Terms and condition telephonically and that the call was recorded and which we knew its not true. The customer service consulted mentioned that they will get the recording which today that hasn't happened
2. The customer service consultant that I spoke to said the Sales person that sold us the voucher is no working at Blingstallation so he cant take responsibility. The fact that the person doesn't work there is irrelevant because when he made the sale he was representing Blingstallation and he sold us the voucher and promised us that we don't need to pay any additional cost and that we can buy our own material
3. The technician that came onsite also said we can go to Makro to get our refund because we were sold the voucher with false information
so why should I know pay an additional money to get my original amount which I was sold under false information ?
