Shocking Hair experience
I have never been so disappointed with my hair in all my life. My hair just got long enough to actually start shaping it after going through chemo last year and loosing all my "long" hair in the process.
I walk into Blades Salon in River Square Shopping center, I tell them that I am a really nervous customer because every centimeter of my hair is very precious to me at this moment in time. And that I myself, is a hairdresser for 26 years allready.
I explain to the hairdresser (Stef) that jumped forward to help me that I only need the hair in my neck and around my ears cleaned up and shaped into the rest of my hair. That I do NOT want to loose length on the rest, just some texture. I ask him, CAN YOU DO POINT CUTTING? Yes he said... CAN YOU TEXTURISE WITHOUT USING A THINNING SCISSOR? Yes he said...
I should have known when I was just sent to the basin straight away, instead of having a proper consultation, to rather have walked away.
I really needed to feel better that day, and I told him that aswell.
As he starts cutting away, I feel he is going up to high at the back of my head, and no point cutting only scissor over comb. I say to him, please don't cut so much, not so high up, I still want the length there, he just nods and push my head forward so I must look down. Every time I try look up he does the same. Then the sides, the more I mention not to loose my length, the more he cuts. Eventually I looked just like a mushroom. He does the most terrible blowdry and then puts the mirror behind my head to show me his horrific haircut. I Burts into tears and shouted at him that I look like a mushroom and that I cannot believe this is his end result as I asked so nicely that he must do point cutting and some texture.
The owner came to calm me down and took over from him to try and save my Denny mushroom haircut... but in order for him to try and fix it, he had to cut it real short again... So, so, so disappointed to say the least.
He made me feel that he only cared about making money and didn't have an inch of sympathy towards my feelings.
