WORST EXPERIENCE EVER
Since I have not recieved ANY response from Blacksteer I felt to share my experience. On the 11th of December 2017 we went for dinner with friends to celebrate my birthday. We decided to go to Atterbury Golden Eagle Spur. When we arrived we noted that the spur is no longer there, but has been replaced with Black Steers. Because we had no other arrangements we decided to give them a go and we were looking forward for a Traditional Black steers experience. I would like this complaint to be directly escalated to the area manager. This Black Steer “restaurant” was serious embarrassment. Herewith a few examples of our experience yesterday: • Walked into the Black Steer just before 18:00 – very few waiters on the floor • Waited ages for starters to arrive • A number of items on the menu was not available • All our burgers were very very dry and resembled nothing to that which is shown on the menu. • My wife paid R90 for a cranberry burger “topped with mozzarella” without any mozzarella. Inquired with the waiter (after waiting ages for him to come). Waiter disappears and leaves my plate with me. After a long wait he returns holding a little plastic container with grated mozzarella in some sauce. By this time my burger was ice cold and the guests at the table had finished their food. I indicated that I would not eat the meal and that he must just put it in a doggy bag so that I can warm it myself • My son ordered calamari. He only had a few bites (the majority of his plate was still left over) we asked for a doggy bag and assumed that it was included in mine. Got home to find that it was not included. • We requested for the menu's to order desserts. Waiter abruptly replies No. After questioning him on this he indicates that they have no desserts. Told him that we want some milkshakes – again he indicates that they only have a limited variety available • I paid R850 in total only realizing now that the payment went through to Spur – I was not offered the option of swiping my spur card • I did engage with the manager informing him that we will never set foot in one of their establishments again – food was poor, service was dismal – basically they should not have opened their doors if they were not in a position to service customers. • There was a Health and safety certificate at the children play area. Which is valid till 2018, but it was issue in 2015, how can this be issue before 2 years prior to the restaurant opening • There was no soap in the bath rooms, and the hot water was switched off All and all this resulted in a terrible experience which should have been a joyous one in celebration of my birthday. These issue I feel is at the owners and franchisee level and if this is how Black Steers ensures the “Turnkey solution” We offer continuous and individual attention from our highly experienced operational staff, Then you need to re-look at your operating model.
