Horrible Experience & Terrible Communication
I engaged Frans of Bitou Joinery for the manufacture and installation of doors and windows at my property, via a contractor I was working with at the time. I trusted the contractor to appoint a competent joiner, which, in hindsight, was not my best decision. Unfortunately, my experience has been extremely frustrating, both in terms of workmanship and after-service. Following installation, it became apparent that there were widespread issues across the work. A number of doors and windows are not square, some require lifting in order to close, and certain units leak during the rain. There is also a clear lack of consistency in the installation, hinges, hooks, and hardware vary throughout, and the overall finish is not uniform. Over a year later, the job remains incomplete. There have been multiple assurances that the outstanding issues would be addressed, however these have not materialised into confirmed dates or attendance on site. Communication has been inconsistent, despite several attempts on my side to resolve matters. At this stage, I am left having to arrange further intervention to correct and complete the work. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend exercising caution before engaging with Bitou joinery.
