Bitcoin no assistance!!!!!

I invested 3,5 thousand rand abouut 4 years ago with Bitcoin. I lost my password because of a break in into my house. Bitcoin says they cannot assist. How is this possible ???I Cannot understand, must i now just loose the money? can you urgently assist pls
