Bill Buchanan Homes preying on the elderly

After weeks of trying to get my 70 year old mom into Arcadia retirement village on the Bluff, we finally went for our interview. Both my brother and myself had to sign surety in order to get her into the place. My understanding of signing surety is that if the person signing the lease is unable to make payment at any time it then falls on you to pay.... Which is fully understood. So we got the call from the Matron on Monday, stating that they cannot afford my mom the room she wanted as they felt that she needs to placed in a different unit which is 7 times the price of what she can afford on her Sassa pension. These people used our bank accounts, where we intentionally saved as much money i.e. Bonuses to show we can afford to help in case it was needed. This just goes to show how Bill Buchanan Homes preys on the elderly and *****s their money and this is not the first time I've heard of this case.
