Bigfoot Express – Unprofessional & No Accountability for Damaged Goods
Bigfoot Express – Unprofessional & No Accountability for Damaged Goods I run a nursery furniture business and entrusted Bigfoot Express with the delivery of a handcrafted compactum to my client. The item was collected on 22 May 2025 under their advertised Option 1 “Service Guarantee”, which promises up to R5,000 cover for damage during handling or transit.
From the start, the collection was poorly executed. The truck was far too high for heavy nursery furniture, and their staff dragged the unit and broke one of the legs while still on my premises. I submitted a formal damage claim on 26 May, including photos, a completed form, and a full description.
Since then, I have: Sent multiple follow-up emails (27, 29 May — morning and afternoon), Received no response whatsoever, Been charged to have the damaged item returned to me on 3 June, Paid R2,629.00 out of pocket to repair it, Been invoiced again for redelivery to the client on 10 June, Given a final warning on 13 June, still with no reply from Bigfoot. To date, not a single acknowledgment, apology, or communication has come from their side. Just silence — and invoices.
I will be reporting this to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud. Businesses like mine rely on transporters to honour basic professionalism. Sadly, Bigfoot Express has shown a total lack of accountability and customer service.
Avoid them if you value your products and peace of mind.
