Business Severely Affected – Access Denied Without Court Order
We are a tenant at a property managed by BIG SKY TRADING 342 CC. On 12 May 2025, we were denied access to our leased warehouse without a court order or written legal notice.
Our attempts to resolve the matter amicably have failed, and we were left with no option but to approach the High Court for an urgent spoliation application. This denial of access has prevented us from delivering over R290,000 worth of confirmed customer orders, causing significant harm to our operations, staff income, and business relationships.
Notably, a supervisor from the appointed security company confirmed in writing that they were instructed by Big Sky’s management to block access—even while acknowledging that this was a management directive, not a lawful eviction. This further confirms that no lawful due process was followed.
We are posting this not out of spite, but to factually share our experience and protect other businesses. If you’re a current or prospective tenant, ensure you have legal safeguards in place and seek legal advice if similar circumstances arise.
We sincerely hope BIG SKY TRADING 342 CC revisits their internal policies and ensures that all tenant matters are handled lawfully, transparently, and with respect for due process.
