Misdiagnosis and general lack of concern
I went to see my regular dentist, Dr Schwartz after the oral hygienist at Intercare Fourways had caused some damage to my gum after a routine cleaning and it had become infected.

Dr Schwartz examined my mouth and took an x-ray and after 10 minutes said there was no serious infection and prescribed anti-inflammatory drugs and I told be is should be fine in a few days. I started the medication an hour later. By that evening the swelling had increased considerably and the pain was severe. I called the next morning to so consult with Dr Schwartz as it was clear it was a serious dental abscess by this stage.
I had left an urgent message as the doctor was not in yet. Later that morning I was called by the receptionist and told that I should \just continue taking the medication and deal with the pain".

Dr Schwartz had completely misdiagnosed me and failed to see the severity of the abscess and then didn't have the courtesy to speak to me directly. Instead she left it to her receptionist to 'deal with the problem'. Her attitude was unprofessional and shows a complete lack of respect for her clients. Three months later and I am still trying to fix the damaged that was done!"""
