Paid 50% deposit and agreement was not honoured

Big J's tree felling submitted a quote to fell 3 oak trees and trim an acacia tree for R10500- we negotiated and R10000 was agreed upon. We had to pay 50% deposit upfront - one tree was felled (and my garden, the neighbour's garden, swimming pool cover and tiles were damaged) and I never complained. They never returned to complete the job and refused to take my calls, did not respond to e-mails, WhattsApp's or sms's.
