Worst service ever!

As a business owner myself, I deeply understand the value of customer service and maintaining respectful, professional relationships. Unfortunately, my experience with Johann has been the most disappointing and disrespectful I’ve ever encountered as a customer.

From the beginning, I was made to feel as though I was begging for help, despite having paid for a service. Johann quoted me nearly R30,000 to repair my bike. I paid half upfront, and he insisted I settle the full amount before he would begin the work. Out of empathy and understanding of how difficult running a business can be, I paid in full—hoping to support someone who seemed to be struggling.

He promised the job would be completed within three weeks. A month and a half later, he began ignoring my calls. When I did manage to reach him, I was met with lie after lie. His tone was consistently belittling and condescending, and I was even threatened for simply asking for progress updates. Johann uses his physical presence to intimidate, which is unacceptable in any professional setting.

When the bike was finally delivered, I hoped the ordeal was over—but it was just the beginning of more issues. The back indicator didn’t work, and the clutch failed shortly after. When I returned the bike, Johann accused me of tampering with it myself. Despite multiple attempts to get him to properly inspect and fix the bike, he neglected the issues and continued to treat me with disrespect, even suggesting I sell the bike instead of addressing the problems.

He showed more interest in impressing other customers than resolving my concerns. Even before delivering the bike, he persistently encouraged me to sell it, revealing that his priority was profit—not service. What Johann fails to understand is that a sustainable business is built on trust, quality service, and a solid reputation—not quick profits.

To make matters worse, he lost my cluster cover and blamed me for it, speaking to me in a dismissive tone. The bike eventually became a safety hazard—it slipped on the road, and I narrowly avoided a serious accident. When I called Johann to ask if the bike was safe to ride, his response was, “I don’t know.” That alone was enough to confirm I could no longer trust him.

I ultimately took the bike to another professional to fix the indicator, clutch, and ensure it was safe to ride. Johann has since removed negative Google reviews—many of which were 1-star ratings. I wouldn’t be surprised if this review disappears too.

If you’re considering using Johann’s services—whether for repairs or selling your bike—do so at your own risk. My experience has been costly, frustrating, and dangerous. I hope this serves as a warning to others.
