Music Concert in Johannesburg

The organisation of the Imagine Dragon concert at the FNB stadium was very poor, especially the crowd control measures. You expect long ques but this was excessive. The officials checking the tickets were clearly not properly trained, and this caused even more delays. In my view the organisers are very fortunate not to be dealing with the aftermath of a stampede. On leaving the stadium people who parked in the General Parking section had a very difficult time finding their way. The lack of lighting caused many people to slide down the embankment and some of the crowed removed fencing to try and get down the embankment. In my view the situation was very serious where many people were forced against a fence and more people sliding or coming down the embankment to try and get to the parking areas. The police and officials were totally outnumbered and they couldn’t do anything to avoid a tragedy. I expected the organisers to have reasonably crowd control and safety measures in place, and should re-look at their safety plans.
