Zoleka & Xolisani in the PE lounge are true customer service champions. Thank you!!!
I would like to commend the exemplary and excellent customer service from by Xolisani and Zoleka at the PE lounge, in the way they assisted on Friday the 6th. Such humanity and kindness is hard to find in this time we live in. They were like superheroes during a terrible situation when SAA flights were delayed due to "no aircrafts".
I was booked on an 17:10 SAA flight to Joburg from PE. I had already checked in online the previous day I got to the airport very early I even decided to go and print the boarding pass since my cellphone battery was almost depleted. At the front desk I was told that SA1454 was delayed from 17:10 it would depart at 1:15 am. Since I was in PE for a work engagement I tried to get the agency to book me on another flight but unfortunately, all flights were fully booked, SA Fair or Mango, none of them had space and I was not willing to sleepover since I had a family event on Saturday. The other option was to wait it out, from 5 pm till 1 am. I waited it out at the Nedbank lounge and realized that it would soon close so I need to make a plan B. I went to the SAA lounge to enquire if we (me and a few other guys affected) can wait there as this was a result of their company's fault? I was told that it is not possible and also that the lounge will close shortly after 6 pm.
So I went back to the Bidvest Lounge to charge my phone, refresh, get a snack and communicate with family. When I approached one of the ladies on duty to check what time they would close she mentioned that she was aware of the issue we have and they won't close until we are boarding. So indeed they kept the lounge open for us, this was an unusual act of kindness and humanity which is really hard to come across especially in our country which is full of self centered and greedy people.
The staff on duty were very friendly and tried all in their ability to assist us as, they shared advice on what to do, they were patient with us and even kept us updated as the times drew closer to them closing the food stall. They were sincere and caring. Also, they tried to keep the place well ventilated by opening windows to allow cool air in since the whole airport was feeling like a steam room due to the aircons not working over and above the fact that we are in the middle of a virus outbreak which thrives in certain warm temperatures. I felt safer in the lounge thank you.
I would like to express gratitude from the bottom of my heart, sicne this was my first time in PE, I was already amazed by the PE community which seemed to be very friendly and happy people but Zoleka and Xolisani as well as the others who were on duty really take the cup. Please continue to share the same excellent customer care. With such acts of kindness and humanity, I am hopeful that the country will be restored by people from PE. God bless your souls to keep sharing this warmth with the world.
