DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!

Bought a 2nd hand motor vehicle and paid cash upfront - R270,000.00.

Bidvest McCarthy VW Menlyn refused any discounts, and did not hesitate in charging 100% for the on-the-road licencing, registration and admin fees.

Paid for the car in full Thursday, was told delivery would happen Friday.

Friday late afternoon I get an email (not even a call) to say the vehicle is still at the valet and still wet - No apology, only that "VW McCarthy has no control over the vendors they subcontract work to, please can we arrange delivery for Monday."

Monday I hear nothing further, so midday I follow up with the dealership. Now there is more paperwork to be completed, which we submit timeously.

I made it clear that 16h00pm was cut-off as I had meetings that day.

Eventually at 14h00pm I get told they are enroute with the vehicle.

Still no vehicle at 15h55 so I follow up AGAIN, and then am told they are 20min away. I cancel my 4pm meetings.

16h28 Car arrives with the a big scratch on the right rear mag. (At this point I am not even arguing, I just wanting the vehicle which is a company vehicle anyway.)

Now the real pain starts - Bidvest McCarthy VW Menlyn use a very faulty mobile application for signatures, handover etc. (None of which work on iPhone BTW), but they remain adamant there is no other way. So we try and we try and we try until the salesman gives up at 17:40.

Application is still not working - but our licence plates and vehicle registration is now being held ransom until we sign the "record of advice" given.
