We visited VW Master cars Constantia Kloof last week for an evaluation to be done on our VW Tiguan that was having some problems. The car was jerking while driving . The car was there for 2 days and we were informed that the diagnostic machine said its a mechanical fault and that they needed to strip the vehicle to be able to quote on what's wrong. Furthermore, we were told that there is a stripping fee of R11 000 in order for them to tell me what is wrong with my vehicle and that the evaluator must come to approve to see if my warranty will cover the damages. We're was told that by the looks of it the costing could be around R40 000 and if the evaluator did not approve the quote and if we do not accept that we would have to pay that R11 000 stripping fee from our pockets before they release the vehicle. All they spoke was money and more money, so we fetched the vehicle and it was booked into a Bosch center. Within 1 hour Bosh called us back stating that 2 coils were damaged and that there was nothing wrong on the diagnostics and that there was no need for the vehicle to be stripped at all as the engine remained closed and untouched. Bosch replaced all 4 coils and including labour they charged a total of R4000 ONLY! I really think VW should re-evaluate the dealers trading with their name as they try to ******* clients just because we have warranties that will payout and not because our cars are damaged beyond measure! Never in my life have I seen a more uninformative dealership who knows nothing but wants to change everything!
