STRUNG ALONG FOR TWO AND HALF YEARS BY TOYOTA DURBAN NORTH
I have a dispute with Bidvest Toyota McCarty and made a major error : I thought that with flagship names Bidvest & Toyota I would be dealing with a Noble House intent on preserving their allegedly pristine names but it seems I'm very mistaken as neither Toyota SA nor Bidvest have even acknowledged, let alone responded! I wonder what Toyota Japan will make of them besmirching their exceptional name. My mistake was only complaining verbally & on the phone to their service consultants. I have asked for copies of the calls many times but have been ignored. ALWAYS PUT YOUR COMPLAINT IN WRITING and get them to rubber stamp it or put it in an email.
I had a warranty & an extended warranty but it seems that McCarty Toyota is feeling the Covid pinch and is penny pinching and is refusing to honour it's moral, legal & fiscal obligation. They have blamed ALL the rust on stone chips which makes one wonder about the poor build quality of my RAV4 if the stone chips are getting into my closed boot to rust the jack! The terrible thing is that they've been playing me for a patsy, stringing me along for 2 & half years, making me take the car in twice, only to rebuff me. I have an email from May confirming above.
Will report further when Toyota Japan responds
Lesson learnt : ALWAYS PUT YOUR COMPLAINT IN WRITING and get them to rubber stamp it; or put it in an email; as trusted names seem to be only a faux veneer
