Management attention required Brand new purchased vehicles - One seems like a faulty unit and other no PDI completed
To whom it may concern, RE: Vehicles purchased at Bidvest Toyota N1 City. Hino200 Account number: *** I took ownership of a Hino200 truck I purchased from Sebastian on 31 December at the branch. When I wanted to leave with the vehicle, the battery was flat, they had to jump start so that I could drive the supposed to be brand new vehicle away. Since I am in the construction trade I only started working mid Jan and used this new vehicles barely 3 weeks when I was too concerned of the list of things I will mention below, after much struggle trying to get Sebastian to hear my frustration he eventually (Mid Feb) said that the management was informed and he then booked my vehicle to be checked out on 25 February at Hino Parow, considering that I reside 150kms from the premises I was quite keen on getting the vehicle fully checked out. On the morning of Friday 21st February around 05:00 am whilst picking up the staff within the area, The oil indicator came on and immediately parked the vehicle and contact Toyota for roadside assistance, knowing full well it will be to risky to drive to any nearest branch because I am just not fami**** with what could be wrong with the supposed to be brand new vehicle. I requested the vehicle be collected on a flatbed, to my surprise a technician arrived (Bear in mind I reside 150kms away) This technician checked and confirmed there is a big problem with the vehicle it has to go in - the oil was very dark and seemed quite surprised by the condition of the vehicle and we did not even have the vehicle for 2 months. Below are all the issues with the vehicle I have mentioned to Renier Hino Kuilsriver as well as Sebastian N1 City Toyota. 1. Upon collection a completely flat battery 2. Smoking really badly. 3. Upon receipt of vehicle, it had nearly 4000kms 4. The railing and canvas is too big, when looking in the mirrors you cannot see anything 5. Wheel alignment out and this causing a shudder on the vehicle when driving 100kmph. 6. Oil light indicator on 7. Little to none oil in the vehicle 8. Oil check very black 9. No pre delivery inspection completed 10. Exhaust not fitted correctly 11. Back of truck completely black because of the exhaust smoke, number plate holder damaged. 12. Various complaint lodged with Sebastian who advised management has been informed yet no solution 13. Technician that arrived agreed upon inspection the vehicle needs a diagnostic test because a new vehicle in this state is quite bad. 14. Renier at Kuilsriver Hino called with feedback to say there seems to be no problems detected, the oil was very low 15. Renier reported no fault on the positioning of the exhaust everything is fine 16. High fuel consumption – 250-300kms on R1000 diesel driving an average of 100kmph
Vehicle has been at Hino Kuilsriver since the 24th February, we received a call to say there are no problems with the vehicle and as being an avid Toyota customer I know the brand very well. I cannot take receipt of this vehicle again with this large list of problems with a brand new vehicle, Toyota and a new vehicle and not even assisting a client with all the records of complaints of the vehicle. I have thus decided to cancel my contract.
Second Vehicle
Toyota Hilux Ex Cab Acc no : *** On Tuesday 11 March I heard a weird sound from the vehicle and decided to take the vehicle to the nearest Toyota dealership, whereby I was assisted by Thys who is the service manager at Paarl Toyota, after test driving the vehicle, he found a leak on the power steering system. 1. No Pre delivery Inspection was done. 2. Power Steering 3. Loose bolts 4. Power Steering container empty 5. Wheel Alignment out I would like to find out how soon this can be repaired, yet the above experience has left a bad taste in my mouth I value this vehicle amongst the fleet I get to drive. Please can I request your urgent attention and assistance to get all my queries addressed and resolved.
