I wouldn't recommend bidvest MacCarthy Toyota pinetown not even to my enemies. On the 21st of December 2022 my father booked in a Toyota quantum since it had a problem of switching off while in motion. Toyota quantum Reg NC 14784. My father was promised that the vehicle would be sorted before month end of December. When my father realised that nothing was being communicated with him regarding the vehicle he decided to pay Toyota a visit on the 28th of December and that is when he was told that they don't know what is wrong with the vehicle and that it's not even switching on anymore it was very frustrating and shocking because we all knew that it's a Toyota at Toyota. My father was then told that two injectors needed to be replaced and my father then had no choice but to submit to anything that was being said to him and asked for the costs and he was charged R24,400. Then on the 3rd of January Toyota called him to inform him that he could fetch the quantum since it was fixed and I took my father to fetch the Toyota quantum. By this time it was late for the vehicle to work so my father drove it him and parked it . The following day my father drove it and his destination was at the pinetown taxi rank, unfortunately the Toyota quantum didn't reach its destination and switched off completely while in motion which caused the vehicle to jerk and roll uncontrollable and was damaged by a truck coming from behind on the right side . Now the quantum couldn't switch on again and arrangements where made to take the Toyota quantum back to Toyota and this is now on the 4th of January 2023. At Toyota we asked to speak to the manager and we were told that his on leave and that he will make a decision on the vehicle when he comes back from his leave but we can leave the vehicle with them for so long. Now we don't know when and how longer we need to wait for the manager and this quantum pays instalments so it needs to be on the road. It was clear that they don't know what was wrong with the vehicle. After few days My father then went back to see if there was progress and to his surprise he was told they still waiting for the manager and he explained that the vehicle needs to pay it's installments therefore it need to be fixed asap and he was told that the manger needs to decide on the vehicle and nobody knows when he will be back from leave. My father decided to report it to his insurance and sa taxi he was then advised to get a lawyer and fight them at this point my father decided to approach the pinetown court for advice and a way forward since he doesn't have a lawyer. At the court he was told the state can assist him fight for a maximum amount of R20,000 at state expenses. Bidvest MacCarthy Toyota pinetown was then served with the letter from court and they responded by serving my father with a letter from their lawyers and their defence is that my father refused when he was told that four injectors needed to be replaced and this is shocking and such a lie my father doesn't know much about cars and their parts. The Toyota quantum was taken to Toyota because we value their opinion and we knew that they wouldn't fail fixing it no matter the parts needed and costs. The vehicle belongs to our family business and I am also hands on and I was contacted by my father regarding everything Toyota said and our goal was to get the vehicle back on the road. Now Toyota gave us a vehicle which was not fixed and not roadworthy. Bidvest MacCarthy Toyota pinetown almost killed my father and we were so glad that the vehicle didn't pick up passengers because maybe the situation could have been worse. We are so shocked and puzzled now that Toyota has found the problem with the quantum before the manager could even get back form his leave. I hope they really know the problem this time although they don't want anything to do with us anymore . Bidvest MacCarthy Toyota pinetown doesn't have the proper staff to diagnose and fix Toyota quantum. Repairing your vehicle there is a high risk and I wonder how many accidents on our roads are caused by their negligence. We will be in court with them and hope to see justice prevail .
