Typical insurance behaviour

I had a scratch and dent cover with Bidvest insurance, and my policy liability was up to R3500.00. I did try to claim and was asked for 2 quotations and clear pictures of damaged areas, and I've provided everything the've asked for. Few weeks later I got an email saying my claim is denied because my damages exceed the policy liability.

I only had 4 items on my quotations, and some items were less than R3500.00. Why wasn't those small items repaired. They knew that if I add everything together the amount will be more, but they still make me runaround.

Anyway I cancelled my insurance, because this is not the kind of an experience I want to go through everytime I claim.
