Review Update: Bidvest Insurance (UIA Business Solutions) Warranty Claims

On the 27th Feb 2020 I published a review of Bidvest Insurance (administered by UIA Business Solutions), where I expressed my dissatisfaction in the way that myExtendedWarranty claim was handled. Which, I followed by lodging a complaint, querying the outcome of my claim.

Following my review and complaint, I was contacted within 24-hours by UIA to follow up on the matter. A gentleman by the name of Bonokuhle Ntanzi called me to discuss, and patiently allowed me to explain my situation, after which he updated me that the matter has been allocated to complaints administrator, Candice Naidoo.

Candice Naidoo was extremely helpful during the escalation process and gave me regular feedback as Bidvest Insurance was still investigating and making further decisions on the next steps to take as per their processes.

I am happy to share that, Bidvest Insurance went on to conduct a reassessment of the claim and the outcome was a positive, 100% approval on the costs claimed for.

This whole process definitely shed some light how strict insurance policy wording can be,as it was revealed that there were some wording discrepancies between what the dealership had reported and what I knew the facts to be.

I would strongly advise anyone who finds themselves in a situation where they need to claim from insurance via the dealership that will be working on the vehicle, to please make sure that the dealership has full view of the terms and conditions of your insurance policy prior to them processing a claim as this will sensitize and guide them on the correct approach/methods to use as allowed by your policy. Furthermore, should you find yourself in a position where you are unclear or unhappy with the outcome of a claim, do not hesitate to complain as at times, critical detail may have been missed. Always have a little fight left in you.
