I made a claim on the 3rd of Jan, had to buy the tyre myself because I was in a hurry and couldn’t wait 48hrs for processing, since then I’ve be back and forth with Bidvest, emailing, calling and trying to get them to assess the claim, finally today I get a response that they will pay R320 for my tyre, which I purchased for 1600, the damaged tyre costs even more than that…

With regard to a tyre claim, the payout amount is based on the tyre tread remaining at the time of the incident. The policy does not pay for the amount of tyre you have used, but covers you for the amount of tyre you have lost due to irreparable damage.
