Bidvest McCarthy Ford Silver Lakes ******** Customers
Took my vehicle for a service at Bidvest McCarthy Ford Silver Lakes, after a few hours they phoned me and said both my brake lights are not working. I asked the service centre how is it possible? I live 40km from the dealer and my wife was driving behind me to drop of the vehicle, all lights was working 100% now suddenly when it gets to the dealer it wasn't working. They wanted to charge me R495 for 2 bulbs, I told them NO do not replace them as there was noting wrong with the bulbs when I took the vehicle in. I then phoned the Service manager and he said he is reporting what the machine display. I told the manager that I'm on my way to the dealer to check what was going on. On arrival I met with the manager and we went to my vehicle, The manager was asking the mechanic about the bulbs. The mechanic rep**** " it wasn't working and that he has 2 in his box which he fitted and that i shouldn't worry about it. I told them if it was one bulb its understandable but 2 at the same time, then the manager said its a problem with the T6 Rangers when one bulb blows the other bulb gets to much current then it blows as well. I had several T6 rangers and not a single one had this "problem" before. These dealers are thinking they are dealing with people that does not have a clue, when 1 bulb blows the other will still get 12v there is no way the current will increase and blow the other one. Now my question is if the dealer charge me R495 for the Bulbs and I say NO do not replace them and the mechanic just fits " the once he has in his box" the mechanic is not following procedures, ford charge for parts and the mechanic fits them for free. The dealer clearly try to take me for a ride to make a quick R495 without doing anything as there was nothing wrong with my brake lights. All of us knows its tough out there but to try to charge customers for things that working is not right and dishonest, How many people does this dealer catch with this ****? Phoning customers to tell them things are not working and the majority of the customers will say Yes fix it and the dealer pockets the money without fixing anything or lifting a finger. I'm going to phone Ford SA head office as well this morning to inform them about this dealer. Secondly when collecting the vehicle i got the invoice and that was it, there was nothing mentioned on the invoice about the " broken brake lights" normally they would give you an inspection sheet of the vehicle but that was no where to be seen. Surely the last time that i will take my vehicle there.
