Shocking Service and lies from an *********** Bidvest Car Hire

My wife reserved a car on 21-1-2020 for collection at Margate Airport on Sunday 16-2-2020 (meet and greet) and received a confirmation with reservation number from Bidvest Car Rental. On Tuesday 11-2-2020 she emailed Bidvest to confirm that all was in order and she received confirmation back the same day. On arriving at Margate Airport on Sunday 16-2-2020 there was no car waiting and on calling the Margate number stated on the confirmation, they denied any knowledge of the reservation despite being quoted the reservation number. My wife and her daughter-in-law were now stranded at a deserted Margate airport (there is only one flight in and out on a Sunday). Not even a taxi available. Fortunately AVIS were able to assist and she managed to get a vehicle. On Monday 17th Feb we received an email from Bidvest (Lehlohonolo) with nothing in it (obviously someone in Margate had alerted him to the problem). I called Lehlohonolo to find out what the email was about and he said that he just sent it to show us that he had emailed Margate with the booking and they had failed on their but his side was OK! I told him that I didn't care who did their job and who didn't - BIDVEST FAILED US!! I then asked to speak to a manager and after holding on for about 20 minutes I gave up and called Customer Care. After explaining the story to a very apologetic lady, she told me that the area manager would call me back which he did shortly thereafter. He told me that he had spoken to the Margate office and they said that they had spoken to my wife on Sunday morning at around 11:00 and she said that she no longer required the vehicle! What an outright lie - they obviously *****ed up in Margate and were now trying to cover up by blaming my wife! The Manager undertook to investigate and get back to me however today is Wednesday and I've heard nothing. What an ***********, lying organization. We, our family and my company will never use BIDVEST CAR RENTAL ever again.
