Bidvest and rentalcars.com. Partnership from hell!!!
<p>I booked a bidvest car rental through rentalcars.com. The payment was deducted with full cover without giving me any options. Full cover isn't a bad thing so I left it. My flight landed at 5:30 today. It is 6:40 and I still have not received my car. You cannot get through to the rentalcars helpline. I am left stranded at the airport. Rentalcars conveniently omit telling you the deposit amount you will be charged. So you book a cheap car, make payment only to get to the airport where bidvest informs you of the additional R 13 000 deposit due. After 45 minutes they awnsered and now wants to charge a cancellation fee for amending the booking so bidvest can charge a reasonable deposit. This is a ridiculous waste of time and shocking service from both service providers!!!!</p>
We do most sincerely regret that you have been inconvenienced in this way and confirm that Rentalcars.com is a broker who reserve vehicles with all car rental service providers internationally.
Their terms and conditions are very clear and all amounts due are indicated both in their quotations and again in their final confirmation. They are however unable to guarantee that you read through these before indicating your acceptance thereof.
We do understand that if you had not fami****ised yourself with these T's and C's, you would be caught off guard but would ask that you keep in mind the value of the asset you drive away in. Your custom is highly valued and we can assure you that our aim is not to disappoint in any way and we trust that the matter will be resolved to your complete satisfaction.
