PLEASE take heed of the majority of negative reviews here for Bidvest Car Hire, they are simply not worth the trouble!

I hired a car for 2 months at OR Tambo Airport in Johannesburg South Africa.

The car itself was fine a 900cc Renault Sandero - the problem cam when I returned the car after having it washed and refuelling it. The man receiveing the car checked in over inside and out, started the engine, checked the fuel at which point in time I said Id just filled it up - he said everything was fine and I left.

I subsequently received a credit card charge for 600 Zar which I queried and was advised the tank had been empty! Bidvest even provided paperwork for an employee alledgedly filling the car up a shortwhile later. I dont know excatly how the **** went down, maybe they filled jerry cans for their own vehicle? Regardless I was ******.

Upon querying this with Rennette Van Der Merwe (Bidvest) I was "forward copies of the slips of fuel added during your rental". Guilty until proven innocent
