Disappointing service

My grandmother was admitted in the early hours of Saturday morning. When we went to see her during visiting hours and asked about her diagnosis, we were told only the Dr can give us the info. On Sunday my aunt asked again and was told to call in today to make an appointment to meet up with the Dr. She was told the Dr will only be available on Thursday. How does it take so long for a patient to be checked?
