Debt Collection agencies and related ****s

My mother received a series of SMS's requesting her to contact them regarding her Standard Bank Credit Card. She is an elderly lady in her 80's so I took it up for her. The number on the SMS did not work. I finally found a number *** which I phoned. I got hold of a lady there and gave her the reference number per the SMS. She had my mothers name correct. We know that her bank accounts are not and never have been in arrears and the bank confirmed this. The woman at B&D then asked me when payment had last been made on this account. I told her I wasn’t going to give her this information and that I wanted to know what this was about. She told me she wouldn’t tell me unless I could give her this information. We had a bit of an argy bargy and I then told her that in my view it was a **** and I would be reporting their firm directly to the attorney general as well as on hellopeter. Attorney Generals office will be next.
