Disorganised Hiring Process
I app**** for the Education Programme Coordinator role with Beyond VAs because my skills matched the job perfectly. However, the entire recruitment process was frustrating and disorganised. It dragged on for six months, with scattered and inconsistent communication — I often had to chase updates myself and some messages went completely unanswered. The final interview wasn’t even on camera, which seemed unprofessional for a role that required strong communication skills.
One of the biggest red flags was the lack of clarity about the role I originally app**** for. At no point was I told what happened to it or why my skills weren’t considered a fit, which was confusing since the role seemed tailor-made for my experience. The process also felt repetitive, with the same information being requested multiple times.
By the time I finally got an outcome, I was offered the casual Project Contractor role, despite having successfully completed the full recruitment process for a full-time position.
Looking back, my experience matched a lot of the negative reviews I saw online — mainly around poor communication, lack of transparency and a drawn-out hiring process. If Beyond VAs wants to attract strong candidates, they need to be more upfront, organised and respectful of applicants' time.
