Half a haircut

<p>Wanting to go for a haircut has always been a bit rarity for me as I don't have a particularly 'out there' sense of style, particulary regarding my hair. So I only really get my hair cut if some or other big event is coming up, otherwise I usually just shave my hair with hair clippera at home.</p> <p>So now you can imagine my utter disappointment when I go out of my way to get my hair done only to be met with utter indifference as to the quality of service I recieve. Upon walking in I was greeted with a 'wonderful' smell which led me to believe something must be wrong with their plumbing; now I understand things like this can happen, but I was offered no explanation or apologies for the assault on my olfactory sense. But I'm not one to complain so I ignored the smell and sat down where I was bid. Once my apron was attached the lady (Rosetta) asked what I wanted; I stated "I want to cut the sides shorter but.." I was cut short (excuse the pun) by the clippers going through my hair before I could finish saying "...not too short." </p> <p>Now I haven't mentioned that the 'hairdresser' cutting my hair didn't bother to brush the previous client's remains off of the aforementioned clippers, so my hair was met with unsanitised equipment. I guess the 3.5 seconds it would have taken to clean the equipment wasn't worth the R150 I had agreed to pay for this 'service'. </p> <p>Once finished I could see the glaring look my 'hairdresser' got when the shampoo lady cleaned off my neck and apron; it was the type of look which suggested that this must be a norm. I will say the lady who shampooed my hair did her utmost to compensate for her collegue's lack of interest. A noble gesture, and a wonderful hair wash, albiet all too little too late.</p> <p>To top off this exquisite experience, I noticed on the drive home that the right side of my head is about 3 cm longer than the left, I mean how can you notice such mistake when you spend all of five minutes on someone's hair... I realise being a man my hair doesn't take long at all, usually about five to ten minutes, and this is admirable when the qulaity of the cut is of a high standard, but what I recieved only displayed a complete lack of interest.</p> <p>Needless to say, never again Rosetta Sansom "Proprietor & Stylist" (how can you as the Proprieter not put an ounce of effort into a client's hair?). I will never step foot in your establishment again and I will encourage others do the same.</p> <p>Footnote: When I contacted Beyond The Fringe, less than 20 min later and told her about how my hair was uneven, I was told that she always checks very carefully that the hair is done properly, I guess it's time to get my hair checked for the cure to baldness, if it grows back that quickly. Cut too short where I didn't want it cut short and left long where it should have been cut shorter... Wow I truly am dumbfounded.</p>
