Bex Express bad service

My partner and I ordered items from Planet 54 around September 20, 2018. I received a notification from Planet 54 on the 22nd that my package was received by Bex Express.

On the 26th I received an sms notification that my package would be delivered that day. I stayed at home all day to make sure someone was around to receive it. No one came and later in the evening I checked tracking and saw that the package had been returned to their offices because they couldn't deliver.

I called the courier company on the 27th and explained to the lady I spoke to that I need to be called when the delivery person is outside as we don't have an intercom or security guard where I live. She said she'd make a note of it.

On the 28th, without notification from the courier, delivery was set up again. I was called ONCE and when they couldn't get a hold of me, the delivery person just left. I called Bex on the same day and got passed on from one person to another until I got a hold of a man named Godfrey.

I explained the whole situation with my delivery and explained again to him that the driver must call when they're outside my residence in order for me to come out. He apologised and said he'd organise for an evening delivery on the same day.

I was home the whole day and when it was after 7 p.m. and delivery hadn't been made and no call came, I checked tracking again. I came across the same message saying the package was returned because they couldn't deliver.

Since then, Bex hasn't tried to reach me and I have no idea what is happening with my package. I'm assuming they're waiting for me to call them again or perhaps they plan on just holding on to my package indefinitely.

I don't know why couriers insist on not equipping their drivers with mobile phones like the food delivery guys. I believe DHL does, and I've received all my deliveries from them because of that.

I've emailed Bex on two occasions trying to remedy the situation but they don't reply to emails. The tracking number of my package is PL40653.
