Horrible experience dealing with BetterSteam

What a horrid experience dealing with this company!!! I will update this post accordingly, as we progress in our back and forth. The owner (Jeff) has threatened that he'll only fix this problem if I remove bad reviews.

Basically, my cleaning company outsourced curtain cleaning to this company. Was quoted, and I paid even before the work commenced. They're "specialists" afterall, as the owner often tells me that they've cleaned 1000's of curtains.

They damaged a 7-meter long sun blocker, that they decided to scrub-wash with a brush in my bathtub and hang out to dry in the sun. I had to realise the damage myself, after they left the blocker outside and disappeared, leaving me to have to take it down and hang it up on the rail myself!

The blocker was discoloured, stuck to itself as they had stretched it out when they hung it out, and stuck on to the clothes line. Water puddles on the wood laminate flooring!!

The excuses from the company: 1. "is that the blocker was old". If that was the case, why didn't you tell me that there would be a risk of damage then?? 2. "i damaged the blocker when i was taking it off the clothes line". Why would i have to even do that? It's your job, not mine. When I called you to tell you about the curtain that was left hanging, you guys never returned, so what was I supposed to do? Leave it outside for a whole week? 3. "we can't take full responsibility for the damage, because it was the old curtains fault". Why not? YOU DIDN'T CAUTION ME TO ANY POSSIBLE DAMAGE, AND I DIDN'T CONSENT to you taking the risk.

It's now been a week. The replacement cost for curtain is R2500 according to a quote from the original manufacturer. I already paid you R900. So, working with these guys could possibly cost me R3400 because I may have to replace this blocker myself.

Save yourself the stress and anxiety, reconsider using these people.
