Worst Service Provider with empty promises.

Bettersure are the worst insurance when it comes to communication and only respond when on Hellopeter unfortunately. On the 11th of February I logged a complaint on HelloPeter for the putrid service received in terms of communication skills and this day was the day I started to see some responses from them for a bit only as its gone all silent yet again.

I suffered a loss in January which I reported to Bettersure and the claim was paid out for a lessor value to what I was insured for. On the 11th of February I was told by a Senior Complaints Consultant by the name of Jabulani that the way this was done was incorrect and he would take it up with the claims department. He also advised that due to me suffering a loss I should not still be paying for this device and he will get this refunded. He promised that he would come back to me the same day if not the next day. He did come back to me however it was regarding an adjustment in premium. To date since 11th of February he is still awaiting feedback from the claims department. This is almost two weeks later and guess what, he too has run out of excuses and now just doesn't respond. Last heard from, 6 days ago.

Hello, Chazlyn.

Thank you for contacting us. We would like to clarify a few things based on your concerns:

Jabulani attempted to contact you on the 11th of January but unfortunately was not able to reach you. We responded to your HelloPeter review, asking you to let us know when would be a suitable time to call you, but you did not respond. Kindly let us know when would be a good time for him to try and phone you again to explain.

We would like to clarify the outcome of your cellphone claim and the reason for the payout amount.

Your cellphone was insured for a lower amount because it was purchased on special. At the time, we advised that the device should ideally be insured at its full retail value to ensure adequate cover. However, as the sum insured on the policy was lower, the settlement was calculated based on that insured amount.
As a result, the payout reflects the value for which the phone was insured, rather than the full retail replacement value.

We understand your concerns and assure you that our consultants are here to assist you when you are available.

Warm regards,
BetterSure

Firstly this is not the original reply given earlier today. It was promised the claims departments operations managed will call me which was not done (yet another empty promise).

Secondly Jabulani attempted to call me on the 11th and thats when you guys advised I was unreachable this is correct yes I did not respond to your suitable time request as myself and Jabulani were communicating via email since this came onto Hellopeter but even that communication became a one way communication which I can provide proof of.

Thirdly, when my phone was purchased, I gave the consultant the information and informed them that the phone was purchased on promotion and should I insure it for the promotional price or retail price. This consultant informed me to make it for the full replacement value which I did.

When the loss occurred, I had to provide your assessor with the invoice to prove ownership which I did and in the end the claim was still paid out less than the invoice amount yet I insured it for a higher value.

Please specify here the sum insured and the value paid out for record purposes.
