This not only for Bettersure but most companies when confirming identity

This not only for Bettersure but most companies when confirming identity. They all ask to confirm your details and when I ask them to give me the information so that I can confirm, most disconnect the phone call. Some actually let me explain why I say that. Today I explained it to the consultant and asked him to directly ask me for my information instead of asking me to confirm, and afterwards he still disconnect the call after I informed him that the previous operator did the same thing. "Confirm - Definition, Meaning: to s**** up or verify something. When you make sure something is set, or firm, you confirm it. The word comes from the Latin con- together, altogether." Therefore I refuse to give any information when someone ask me to confirm (since they have the information on the computer in front of them, they are the person who wants to confirm) I will explain why and then request the operator to ask me directly for the information needed and I then cooperate with the operator.

Hello Chris,

Thank you for sharing your concerns with us. We appreciate the opportunity to clarify why we request clients to confirm their personal details during calls.

In terms of the FAIS Act, all financial service providers are required to verify the identity of the person we are speaking to—even when we have initiated the call. This means that we must ask you to confirm certain personal details as part of our security process to ensure that we are speaking to the authorised policyholder.

These security measures are in place to protect you and your policy. If a client is unable to pass the security verification, we are legally not permitted to proceed, as doing so would place the client and their policy at risk.

We do apologise for the dropped calls, and we will look into it to ensure it doesn't happen again.

Warm regards,
BetterSure
