House insurance not paid

I have the worst experience with this company, I have a house structure with bettersure for the house I bought in 2022, in 2023 I checked and renovated my house to be a home, this year January we had floods in phalaborwa and my roof was affected now when I claim they said it was not damaged because of floods and they further said I was not looking after my roof, how can the bank approve a torn house? BetterSure is underwritten by a very bad underwriter known for ****ming people.

Hello Tendani

Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. We are sorry to hear about your frustration and understand how worrying it can be when issues arise with a property.

We would like to clarify that, while a bank may require insurance as part of a home loan, it is not the bank’s responsibility to assess the property's physical condition or structural condition. It remains the homeowner’s responsibility to arrange a comprehensive building inspection or assessment when purchasing or maintaining a property. This helps ensure that any existing defects or maintenance issues are identified early.

That said, we do take your concerns seriously. We will review the assessment report related to your claim to ensure that the findings and the process followed were appropriate. If there is anything further that needs to be clarified or addressed, we will contact you.

Thank you for raising this matter with us, and please know that we are committed to assisting you as best we can.

Warm regards,
BetterSure

I did inspect my building before it was renovated in 2023,and the roof was intact and not even a single day my roof was leaking, it's only now with the disaster that everything everything went south and it was raining all over. And before u cover someone don't just be happy to debit people money without checking what u are covering because when claims comes you hide behind the renovation card. Like what the car industry does when you buy a car the insurance company inspect first before they cover. Am worried about the claims u rejected this year in January simply bcoz your underwriter always send *********** assessors and that assersor when he walks on top of the roof who knows he is kicking some of the tiles to make it look bad???
