Bad Service, disregard for Clients, *******ion

I logged a claim with BetterSure home insurance on the 17th of June and to date my issue has not been resolved instead. After waiting this long and since decided to tackle some of the work myself they decided to settle the bare minimum even so they have logged a second claim on my behalf which I know nothing of. I have emailed Sylvia Motebang who is the lady that is handling my claim without receiving a response.

I want to know who logged the second claim because I certainly didn't. Why is a since incident with a single case that's with SAPS suddenly becomes 2 claims? In my house we had 2 theft incidences with the 2nd one happening days after I had logged the claim, the second incident they broke into our car and stole a speaker and that has nothing to do with BetterSure. Their Assessor took the 2nd theft incident and in cooperated it to our claim which is wrong, what does car theft have to do with the claim I had already logged?

Now I am required 2 access fees for a single incident, how? Secondly I would have expected them to send their contractor to do the work because what they are offering is just bare minimum even on that they still want to exploit me. I want the matter resolved, I will not let it rest even if takes me decades to get a fair judgement on it.

Hello Nonzwaki

We have investigated and can confirm the following:

You initially registered a theft claim, and shortly thereafter, a second theft incident occurred at the same property. This second incident was confirmed to the assessor during their assessment. Based on this confirmation, a second claim was registered — even though you indicated that only a speaker was taken during the second event.

In line with the policy terms, each incident is treated as a separate claim, and therefore two excess fees are applicable. These cannot be combined or deducted from a single claim. For this reason, the settlement amount was calculated, divided between the two claims, and the applicable excess fees app**** individually.

We have already issued the agreements of loss letters for both claims. We understand that you are dissatisfied with the deduction of two excess fees; however, unfortunately, we are unable to waive them.

Warm regards,
BetterSure
