WORST MEDICAL AID EVER. - NO COMMUNICATION

The worst experience I have ever had.

My mother is 86 years old and needs hearing aids. In November 2023 I phoned and asked how we can go about getting her a set of hearing aids.

I was told that the limit is R8811.00. The lady (Geo) not sure of the spelling advised that we requested the balance to be paid from her vested accounted. but the email must come from her email address. This was done on 17 January 2024, a follow up was sent by my mother on 26 January 2024. Still no response. I phoned again on 31 January 2024 and after getting cut off 4 times I eventually asked for a manager and got to speak to a lady by the name of Fozia who was very helpful and told me to forward the emails to service@bestmed which I did. Today after 3 phone calls to Kgopopso for 11 minutes and Ikram on 2 separate occasions (40 minutes) that I need my mother to send the emails from her account. The second occasion, I was told that he has escalated the claim. He could not tell me if the outstanding amount of +-21200.00 would be paid from her vested account . Every time you ask difficult questions the call drops/ cut you off or something happens that you get cutoff. The last lady Katlego who I held on for 15 minutes was not much help just to say that there is pay run going through next Tuesday then the phones goes dead.

Just reading all these reviews, I think Bestmed should really look at doing something to improve their communication and get competant people to do the Job, The lady on the switchboard will not put you through to a manager but puts you back to the call centre.

I have advised my mother to start looking for another medical aid as this is not acceptable, Reading the reviews, heaven forbid that something should happen and she cannot be helped. For many years she has been a loyal member not abusing her medical aid and for her to be treated in this manner is not acceptable.

CATCH A WAKE UP BESTMED. You are going to be losing a lot of members should this practice continue
