Worst Med so far
Turns out to be WorstMed for me. I joined in July from another in-house scheme administered by Discovery. Im so frustrated because I cannot even access basic vitamins my kids and I live on. I took vitamins for one child, and they did not pay for the vitamins for the secind child! Because prevention is better than cute. I cannot access my collagen tabs I also live by. Yet, my premium is same if not more than my previous medical aid!! R6000+. I joined in July already they are telling me some funds are exhausted. I have not really used them much. Other than taking vitamins and a few items which they did not even pay in full! If it was not an employer prescribed medical I would definitely walk away. Worse, I wrote them an email with these queries about three weeks ago, and a follow up recently. Their service emails are unattended. No response. What a culture shock compared to experience I has with Discovery.

Bestmed Covered for vitamins from over-the-counter benefits and according to the formulary list. Claims are subject to the Mediscor Reference Price (MRP). This price represents the reasonable price in the market for a particular group of generic equivalent products which is reviewed and updated regularly. MRP sets a maximum reimbursable price for a list of generically similar products with a cost lower than that of the original product.
