UNSATISFIED AND BAD SERVICE WITH BESTMED

On 6 Nov 2018 my wife needed a urgent stomach operation at Unitas. We waited 3 months for approval with Bestmed. Then we were approved and the medical aid card said no waiting period. What we did not know is that my wife had to wait a 12 month period before she could have any stomach operation. Now how do you plan for this to happen?? Well Bestmed did not want to approve any hospital authorisations or scan or for that matter anything. IS THAT THE WAY YOU WANT TO TREAT YOUR CLIENTS? My wife had the operation as she has a wonderful surgeon. We now own the hospital and all the other medical bills that was done on her and the amount is now over the R200 000.00. They are quick to deduct your money. On the application form my wife made a finger mistake and did not mention she uses Lexamill. A light antidepressant pill. That is there answer for not authorising anything. I mean that has nothing to do with any intestine operation and obstruction in the stomach. Very disappointed with Bestmed. THEUNS BASSON
