TAKE FUNDS WITHOUT EVEN DELIVERING CARD (NONE OF THEIR APPS ACTUALLY WORK TO GET HOLD OF THEM, ONLY HELLO PETER WORKS
Are trying to sell to people that already that are already apparently members - waste of time and money surely from pre-sales office expense budget.
This review is not about the above, this is that everything has gone horribly wrong in dealing with this crowd yet they were very quick to take the R9,450 out of my account at least one thing they have managed to get right (the actual amount and take it before we have any cards,
19 days we have been waiting on the chronic cover (yes i have proof where the BestMed team confirmed) - so guess who's paying everything or as all medical aids, they will take it out of my savings account of R1795 - and I will still need to pay in over R817 today and this is just for my Dad's medication. Not even sure mine has been worked on.....
It is incomprehensive that whilst we pay so much, in reality we get so little and then get warned not to only have a hospital plan as it is an insurance, but GAP cover too which is what (wait for this) too is an insurance. Very contradictory.
Having recently had the luxury of being retrenched, I do the most diligent to ensure my family and I are covered - have to say if I have a heart attack, BestMed honestly is the reason. It will be too expensive to even had.
To think, I chose this company (well they were in the top 3) - perhaps they just advertised a bit better - honestly, 1 star is one too many.
The membership/new business leader is missing in action and does not answer calls. I have spent an entire day struggling with the call centre and getting registered online (both mobile app and via laptop) to gain visibility of exactly what is going on.
On the mobile app iOS does not send a OTP to confirm registration (I tried several times over the weekend and this week), much simpler on the normal online system.
The content and functionality is different, however there is no status update on the chronic.
So to recap - we went from no waiting and penalties certificate, to the following week a waiting period certificate, back to a non waiting period (as legally no medical aid is permitted to enforce a waiting period where a person has been retrenched) and we have NEVER had a break in cover as a family.
Our medical aid cards are apparently on the way but the most frustration which is going to result in us moving medical aids is that I have proof that our Cardiologist did complete the portion required on the 23rd of October and submitted to BestMed and yesterday when I did call and email (the BestMed 'New/Service Delivery' Leads job and she committed to establishing) which she failed for 48 hours and then did not answer her call) they claim to not to have the chronic forms.
I have the proof that not only were the chronic forms (BestMed forms) completed, the full reports with bloods and feedback from the cardiologist as both my Dad and I did a full medical earlier in the year - BestMed send me another blank form to complete. All we have is high blood pressure (familial).
This company is not customer centric much less competent. A as simple one liner email to apologise and then not resolve issue on more than one occasion now is not at all acceptable.
They used the savings account for the chronic meds, so I pay in full and then they question what one of the top cardiologists in the county on my Dad's meds and want us to use 'generic
which the cardiologist does not permit.
I have made it clear that if this is not resolved by close of business 11/11/2020 that we will be requesting the broker to move us.
Having slept on it, at the price sub-standard is simply not good enough!
I will double check on this platform who customers are rating the best and request the brokers support in shifting us.
This experience has actually ben more stressful and upsetting than any event this year (and globally and personally we have had our fair share).
The tipping factor that lead me to selecting BestMed is that they do their own administration, therefore the process and cost of running an admin division internally, should absolutely not result in what we have experienced to date.
The negativity and uncer*****y in the event we actually have a crises is really not worth this!
So, what do I want out of this - to move on, though frankly to start this revolting process all over again is daunting.
If anyone can suggest a medical aid/combined plan that actually does provide service at a fair price, please do comment. I have done the analysis and along with the broker selected BestMed for my family, so this was not simply based on an adverti*****t or cold call.
Do not let the fact that and medical company is in the top 5 as per online reports (based on number of clients) be one of the criteria for making a decision. We have taken comprehensive cover and have done GAP cover, paying a lot and the above is the result.
I have done all I can do with this company, will be turning to the brokers to assist or have to do myself again.
