Shocking Policies and Benefits!

<p>My 8 year old daughter had an operation performed last year to insert metal pieces into her mouth and jaw, to lengthen and widen her jaw. That prodecure was accepted, with the knowledge that these metal pieces would be coming out in about 4 months. Upon requesting authorisation to have the procedure to remove the metal, it was denied. The reason for the denial was that the benefits have changed from 2016 to 2017.</p> <p>It was recommended that I change policies but that was NEVER followed up! And regardless, this is essentially part B of the 2 part operation. How can it be approved to put the metal into the body (knowing another operation is needed to remove it in a few months time) and then denying approval for the procedure to remove the metal!!!!</p> <p>I have been in contact with my Medical Aid broker, the person who I deal with at BestMed, the team leader of Authorisation at BestMed, and still no luc****</p> <p> </p> <p>Absolutely shocking!!!! An 8 year old little girl can't have this metal in her mouth forever!!!</p>
